I am super excited to share my review with you today for True Crime Story by Joseph Knox….Which is out now
‘What happens to those girls who go missing? What happens to the Zoe Nolans of the world?’
In the early hours of Saturday 17 December 2011, Zoe Nolan, a nineteen-year-old Manchester University student, walked out of a party taking place in the shared accommodation where she had been living for three months.
She was never seen again.
Seven years after her disappearance, struggling writer Evelyn Mitchell finds herself drawn into the mystery. Through interviews with Zoe’s closest friends and family, she begins piecing together what really happened in 2011. But where some versions of events overlap, aligning perfectly with one another, others stand in stark contrast, giving rise to troubling inconsistencies.
Shaken by revelations of Zoe’s secret life, and stalked by a figure from the shadows, Evelyn turns to crime writer Joseph Knox to help make sense of a case where everyone has something to hide.
Zoe Nolan may be missing presumed dead, but her story is only just beginning
First of all I have to say a masive thank you to Casey Kelleher for recommending this to me….
OMG what an audio….where do I begin! So many narrators, so many characters. This is one hell of a listen. amazon tells me there are 15 narrators…..Joseph Knox, Sarah Parks, Ciara Baxendale, David John, Chris Thompson, Louis Bernard, Drew Dillon, Shane Zaza, Caitlin Griffiths, Conor McLeod, Dolly Webb, Grace Cooper, Isla Lee, Levi Brown, Noah Marullo each one is a different character.Even the author is there. Making me feel like I was listening to a crime documentary through a series different interviews piecing together what happened in 2011 When Zoe Nolan went missing and was never seen again.
This is a story that is fact and fiction and will seriously mess with with your head. Has we try to work out who, what, why and when. I have to say this is a brilliant story. I felt really invested with the storytelling. Every single character in this book brings something different. Making me question things and of course keep you guessing.
It is one hell of a clever story. The more I heard the more I got to know Zoe and her life. What did happen to Zoe on the night she disappeared ? Read it and find out for yourself.
If your looking for an utterly engrossing read, then this is the book for you. I cannot recommend it enough.
