I am super excited to share my review with you today for The Secret Voices by M J White….Which is out now!

They said they’d keep me safe.

They said, ‘It’s okay, Hannah. You know you can trust me.’

They lied.

When eight-year-old Hannah Perry goes missing in the small Suffolk village of St Just, the community is rocked. Heading up the investigation is Acting DS Rob Minshull, but he’s out of his depth in a case that seems to mirror the disappearance of a young boy, seven years ago. That search ended in unimaginable tragedy…and Minshull is praying that history won’t be repeated.

But with an investigation full of dead ends, and a kidnapper taunting the police with sinister deliveries of Hannah’s belongings and cryptic notes, the young girl’s life hangs perilously in danger.

Until Dr Cora Lael enters the picture. A psychologist with a unique ability, Cora’s rare gift allows her to sense emotions attached to discarded objects. When she is shown the first of Hannah’s belongings, she hears the child’s piercing scream.

With few leads on the case, could Cora prove Hannah’s only hope? And as time runs out, can they find Hannah before history repeats itself…?

A twisty, original and utterly gripping detective thriller that fans of James Oswald and LJ Ross will love. Don’t miss the crime thriller debut from the bestselling women’s fiction author, Miranda Dickinson.

My Thoughts

I am massive fan of Miranda’s with her being a local author, which is how I came across her. Since then I have read all of her sparkly books. Now the wait is finally over and she has moved over to the dark side with her debut crime novel The Secret Voices. I have waited so long for this moment and boy you guys are in for treat.

In this book we meet DS Rob Minshull who finds himself out of his depth with a missing child child case. Until Dr Corba gets involved. Corba has a special gift….Can they find the child before its to late?!

I always love that the author makes me feel like I am in the story with her descriptions and I can tell by her writing her style with words she uses that she has wrote this. But instead of a fluffy and heartwarming read. She takes us on a roller-coaster ride. With characters that you will love and will on.

I especially love Corba with her gift. for me she is a unique character which makes this story something that I haven’t read before. Which is an absolute winner for me because I am always looking for something a little different. With all the crime books I have read they can be the same old! so to speak. The Secret Voice is original, very addictive, full of suspense and an awesome start to a fresh new series……I totally loved it.

Read it….you wont be disappointed. I highly recommend it.

Thank you to Rachel for inviting me to take part on this tour and to Hera for a copy of this book. All thoughts are my own and not biased in anyway.
