I am super excited to share my review with you today for Payback by Gemma Rogers. Which is out now
In 1997 teenager Sophie White and her three girlfriends decide they want to lose their innocence before summer is over.
Roping in her childhood buddy Gareth and his mates, Sophie holds a party to get ‘the deed’ over and done with, but the night doesn’t end as planned.
Twenty years later, the group are brought back together when Gareth is killed in a car accident and Sophie begins receiving threatening messages. It seems the party wasn’t as
innocent as everyone thought and now someone wants payback.
Payback is the first book that I have read/ listened to by Gemma Rogers and I must admit I go over excited when I started this because not only is it bloody brilliant. But I have found myself a new author to read. Payback is that good I was gutted I hadn’t found this author sooner! damn…..where have I been!
Just means I can pay catch up on audio with there new plus catalogue, quite a few of Gemma’s books are on there.
What a story…. I was gripped from start to finish. Talk about pulled me sideways this book takes you on one hell of a ride. It is tense, then a bit more tense then even more tense! It has totally blown me away. I loved the characters, the plot. in fact I loved everything about it!
The narrator is absolutely brilliant and certainly brings the story to life. The story is something that we can all relate to and I felt right back in my teenage years with the setting and different things that was mentioned. The authors style of writing is crisp painting a picture that is so easy to visualise. I really did feel like I was right there in the story.
Payback is packed full of twists and turns keeping you on tender hooks. I couldn’t get enough of it I sailed through this audio. I cannot recommend it enough giving it all the stars.
Perfect for fans of Mandasue Heller and Dreda say Mitchell
