#BookReviewThe Murder House (DCI Matilda Darke #5) by Michael Wood @0neMoreChapter_ @MichaelHWood

I am super excited to share my review with you today for The Murder House by Michael Wood

The Book

They were the perfect family. It was the perfect crime.

The new gripping DCI Matilda Darke crime thriller about the dark secrets that lie within a perfect family. For fans of Patricia Gibney and Angela Marsons.

It’s the most disturbing crime scene DCI Matilda Darke has ever seen…

The morning after a wedding reception at a beautiful suburban home in Sheffield, the bride’s entire family are stabbed to death – in a frenzied attack more violent than anything DCI Matilda Darke could have imagined.

Forensics point to a burglar on the run across the country. But cracks are starting to appear in Matilda’s team, someone is playing games with the evidence – and the killer might be closer to home than they thought…

My Thoughts

The second I started this book, it was so good I was annoyed with myself. I wish I had actually read it ages ago instead of leaving it sitting on that never ending to be read book pile I have….That’s how good this book is!

With a gruesome and horrifying opening the author reminded me of why I love this series so much. I was back with DCI Matilda, a character and series which I had forgotten how much I love!

In that moment I found myself hooked until the very last page. This book is one hell of a page turner. I love the author’s writing style making it a fast paced engrossing read.  This is not for the faint hearted. This book is exactly how I like it….Dark and gory. With a well thought out plot and brilliant police procedure.

The Murder House is a highly entertaining read. Which I cannot recommend enough. I sure as hell won’t be leaving it so long to read the next book in the series.
