Dead Inside by Noelle Holten #BlogTour #Review @nholten40 @BOTBSPublicity @KillerReads

I am super excited to be part of this blog tour and to be kicking it off on publication day for my good friend Noelle. Who encouraged me and helped me start up my blog 3 and a half years ago along with a few other friends.Which I am entirely grateful for. Before I share my thoughts with you I would like to wish Noelle all the very best with her debut novel, you guys are going to love it…..So lets crack on and check the blurb out…..

The killer is just getting started…

When three wife beaters are themselves found beaten to death, DC Maggie Jamieson knows she is facing her toughest case yet.

The police suspect that Probation Officer Lucy Sherwood – who is connected to all three victims – is hiding a dark secret. Then a fourth domestic abuser is brutally murdered.

And he is Lucy’s husband.

Now the police are running out of time, but can Maggie really believe her friend Lucy is a cold-blooded killer?

Kept me hooked … excellent pace and a very satisfying ending’ Angela Marsons

‘An excellent read’ Martina Cole

‘A brilliant debut – gritty, dark and chilling. Noelle Holten knows her stuff’ Mel Sherratt

A dark and gripping debut crime novel – the first in a stunning new series – from a huge new talent.

My Thoughts

First of all I have to say that it is hard reviewing a book for someone that I know and some of you may think that I am being biased but that really isn’t the case with Noelle’s book. We all have different tastes and like different things when we read a book but Noelle has well and truly smashed it.

I was a beta reader, so I have actually read this book twice now! First time I read it was I was that engrossed I was late going to my boyfriends, the second time I was late for work.,which speaks for itself…

When I started Dead Inside I thought it was going to be a domestic noir which I am not a fan of. But how wrong was I. This book is so much more than that, it is actually a mixed genre combining police procedure with a probation officer and grit lit…..Happy Days. I was in my element reading this.

In this story we meet a host of characters including myself and the rest of #BlogSquad…..a big thank you to Noelle for making me a character in your book. We also meet Lucy who is a probation officer, I adored her my heart went out to her having to cope with the abuse from her husband while doing the job that she does. With a dark subject matter which some readers may find uncomfortable, while all this is going on DC Maggie Jamieson is on the hunt for a cold blooded killer.

I must admit that I did work out who the killer was early on but then the author throws in a twist which I, so wasn’t expecting leaving me with my jaw on the floor! Talk about an OMFG moment!

I love the fact that the story is about a probation officer which I found new and refreshing. Noelle has used her work experience and brings us the ultimate crime thriller. I absolutely freaking loved it.

Dead Inside will keep you on the edge of your seat and guessing until the end which I cannot recommend enough. I am blown away by the fact that it is a debut novel, Noelle has left no room for improvement. I can not wait to see what she comes up with next.

Thank you to Sarah Hardy for a copy and for inviting me to take part on this epic tour.
