The Brotherhood by Jo Fenton #BlogTour @jl_fenton @rararesources

I am delighted to share my review for The Brotherhood with you today on Blog Tour

When a young woman becomes pregnant in a religious sect, how far will she go to escape the abusive leader and save the people she loves?

The Brotherhood – safe haven or prison?

After her parents’ sudden death, a grieving Melissa falls back on her faith and into the welcoming arms of a religious sect. Captivated by their leader, Dominic, she leaves her old life behind and moves to the countryside to join them.

But life in The Brotherhood is not as safe as it first appeared. When engineer Mark joins The Brotherhood, Melissa finds herself conflicted between her growing feelings for him and her crush on Dominic. With their leader’s initial encouragement, Melissa and Mark grow close.

But as her haven becomes a prison, Melissa’s newfound happiness is destroyed by Dominic’s jealousy. How can she escape and save the ones she loves?

My Thoughts

OH MY WORD….what an addictive read! I couldn’t wait to get started on this story knowing that it was a psychological thriller which sold it to me. This is one of those novels that it isn’t what I expected it to be and was totally blow away. Yes I freaking loved it!

In this story we meet Melissa who hasn’t had the best couple of years with losing her parents in an accident and breaking up with her partner. She bumps into Dominic who invites her to stay at The abbey and join the Brotherhood. Things take a turn when things are not what they seemed and Mel finds herself trapped in a situation which is beyond her control.

The Brotherhood has it all… romance, excitement, tension and some heart breaking moments, it is an utterly compelling read. With a mixture of characters some you will love and some you will hate, which is the whole idea of the story. The whole time I found myself willing Mel along. You can feel the emotion and apprehension in the author’s writing.

The more I read the more I wanted to know keeping me in suspense. You seriously need to read it, I cannot praise this book enough… is simply brilliant.

I cannot wait to read The Refuge now to see what happens next.

Thank you to Rachel Gilbey for a copy and for inviting me to take part on the tour.

Jo Fenton grew up in Hertfordshire. She devoured books from an early age, particularly enjoying adventure books, school stories and fantasy. She wanted to be a scientist from aged six after being given a wonderful book titled “Science Can Be Fun”. At eleven, she discovered Agatha Christie and Georgette Heyer, and now has an eclectic and much loved book collection cluttering her home office.
Jo combines an exciting career in Clinical Research with an equally exciting but very different career as a writer of psychological thrillers.
When not working, she runs (very slowly), and chats to lots of people. She lives in Manchester with her husband, two sons, a Corgi and a tankful of tropical fish. She is an active and enthusiastic member of two writing groups and a reading group
